Breakfast Beans

There is nothing like a good hearty breakfast to start the day and this recipe for Breakfast Beans is a ripper!

I know it is probably easier to just buy a couple of cans of baked beans but I guarantee it won’t taste anywhere near as good as these beans. So take the time and give these a go to set yourself up for the week with great tasting beans!!

Beans

Ingredients
1 Red Onion
4 Rashers of Bacon
1 Clove of Garlic
2 Heaped Teaspoons of Paprika
2 Tins of Cannellini Beans
400g Pasata
1 Heaped Tablespoon of Tomato Paste
¼ Cup of Worcestershire Sauce
½ Tablespoon of Brown sugar
Salt and Pepper
Olive Oil

Dice the onion and bacon and sauté in a pan with some olive oil for 10 minutes until they start to get a bit of colour.

Add the garlic and paprika and sauté for a few minutes to bring out the flavour in the paprika.

Add the beans including the juice along with the rest of the ingredients, season and simmer on a low heat for about 15 minutes.

Place in sterilized jars to store.

We love these served with two fried eggs and a couple of slices of sourdough toast.
